GENETICALLY SIGNIFICANT DOSE & DOUBLING DOSE

1. Genetically significant dose = index of radiation-induced mutation in an exposed population.

2. The sensitivity to radiation-induced mutation of a population is measured by doubling dose.

3. Doubling dose = dose that doubles the spontaneous mutation rate per generation. In humans: 1Gy.
