FLUROSCOPY-DOSE REDUCTION STRATEGIES

1. Low dose = high kV + low mA } increased noise, low contrast, low dose.

2. Use pulse mode. Lower pulse rate } increased noise, degrades temporal resolution.

3. Take foot off pedal! Use image-hold mode. Do not activate unless viewing monitor and only to view dynamic events.

4. Decrease imaging procedure time.

5. Use magnification only when necessary - use large field size and collimate manually to look at smaller area.
