X-RAY TUBE-ANODE PROPERTIES

1. High atomic number (increased conversion efficiency into X-rays).
2. Good conductor (dissipates heat from the focal spot to the rest of the anode).
3. High melting point (tungsten = 3370 °C).
4. Low vapour point (prevents the anode “boiling off”).
