MR SAFETY-ACOUSTIC NOISE

1. Most MR scanners do not exceed 120 dB.
2. Hearing protection is required > 90 dB to prevent irreparable hearing damage.
3. Ear plugs reduce noise by only 10 - 30 dB.
4. There are concerns about the effects of loud noise on the fetus.
