1. Diagnose CPPD by finding intracellular crystals that are blunted, rhomboid, and are weakly positively birefringent.

2. Joint-space narrowing.

3. Chondrocalcinosis - ossification of the cartilage. Typical of pseudogout.

4. Cyst formation under the cartilage.
