ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID SYNDROME-MANAGEMENT

1. Acute treatment of APS: Acute clots are treated with anticoagulation, usually low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH).

2. Treat the underlying disease if APS is secondary.

3. Lifelong anticoagulation is usually given - warfarin & hydroxychloroquine in non-pregnant patients (warfarin is teratogenic).
