COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME
1. Also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), shoulder-hand syndrome, or Sudeck atrophy.
2. Clinical syndrome of variable course and unknown etiology characterized by pain, swelling, and vasomotor dysfunction of an extremity.
3. Type 1 (RSD) & 2 (causalgia).
4. Reported in 12-25% of hemiplegic stroke patients, most common type in stroke is shoulder-hand syndrome.
