CAUSES OF UNILATERAL VAGAL LESIONS

1. Leads to ipsilateral failure of elevation of the palate (which is drawn to the normal side).
2. Central causes - PICA territory infarct (lateral medullary syndrome), syringobulbia, MND.
3. Peripheral causes - ICA aneurysm (at the jugular foramen), BOS tumors, chornic meningitis, GBS.
