CAUSES OF FASCICULATIONS

1. Definition - irregular contraction of small areas of a muscle present at rest + abolished by voluntary movement.
2. Weakness + wasting + fasciculations => LMN lesion.
3. Causes - MND, nerve root compression, peripheral neuropathy (eg. DM), myopathy, thyrotoxicosis.
