STROKE-MIRROR THERAPY & MOTOR IMAGERY

Neurology

STROKE-MIRROR THERAPY & MOTOR IMAGERY

1. Mirror therapy mirror is placed in the patient's mid-sagittal plane, thus reflecting movements of the non-paretic side as if it were the affected side.

2. Mirror therapy is effective for improving upper extremity motor function, ADL, and pain, at least as an adjunct to normal rehabilitation.

3. Motor imagery is a mental process during which an individual rehearses or simulates a given action before it is actually performed. There is insufficient evidence to support or refute this.
