SPASTICITY-ASSESSMENT

1. Ashworth Scale measures tone while the Tardieu Scale actually measures spasticity.

2. The Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) is a widely used qualitative scale for the assessment of the tone component of spasticity. 0 - no spasticity; 1 - catch & release; 1+ - catch & resistance; 2 - < 50% resistance; 3 - > 50% resistance; 4 - rigidity.
