NEUROPATHY-TYPES

1. Mononeuropathy - only 1 nerve involved. Due to entrapment, focal ischemia and trauma.

2. Mononeuritis multiplex - 2 or more nerves involved. Due to systemic disorders resulting in vasculitis and
vascular occlusion of the vasa nervosum, such as in DM or vasculitis.

3. Peripheral neuropathy/Polyneuropathy - peripheral nerves symmetrically and diffusely involved. Distal segments more than proximal.

4. Plexopathy - involvement of a plexus.
