CAUSES OF DIABETES INSIPIDUS

A. NEUROGENIC (DECREASED PRODUCTION OF ADH)
1. Acquired - trauma, eosinophilic granuloma, sarcoidosis, granulomatosis with polyangitis, CA, Sheehan syndrome, idiopathic.
2. Genetic.

B. NEPHROGENIC (DECREASED RESPONSE TO ADH)
1. Acquired - lithium, any causes of hypercalcemia.
2. Genetic - mutations in the ADH receptor or aquaporin.
