PULMONARY TRUNK

ORIGIN
1. Commences at the pulmonary orifice.

COURSE
2. Arches backwards to the left of the ascending aorta.
3. It divides within the concavity of the aortic arch into the right and left pulmonary arteries. The left PA arches above the left main bronchus.

BRANCHES
4. Each PA divides into lobar branches - 3 on the right + 2 on the left.
5. Then segmental branches => subsegmental branches => arterioles => capillaries around alveoli.
