INTRODUCTION
1. Left lung consists of 2 lobes, right consists of 3.
2. Each has 1 main bronchus, 1 pulmonary artery, 2 pulmonary veins.

ROOT
3. The root is the region where the lung is connected to the mediastinum via the bronchus + pulmonary vessels.

LEFT ANTERIOR BORDER
4. The anterior border of the left lung is thin and sharp and has a deeply concave cardiac notch.

LEFT MEDIASTINAL SURFACE
5. From front to back: cardiac impression => hilum => groove for oesophagus => groove for descending aorta.
6. Above the aortic arch, from front to back: BCV => subclavian artery => oesophagus.
