INTERNAL THORACIC ARTERY

1. Branch of the subclavian artery. Supplies the anterior body wall from the clavicle to the umbilicus.
2. Gives off the pericardiophrenic branch which accompanies the phrenic nerve.
3. Gives off 2 anterior intercostal arteries at each intercostal space.
4. Perforating branches emerge at each intercostal space.
5. Terminates at the costal margin as the superior epigastric + musculophrenic arteries.
