HEMIAZYGOUS VEINS

1. 2 veins that lie longitudinally on the left side of the thoracic vertebra - accessory hemiazygous (upper) + hemiazygous (lower) veins.
2. Drain from their adjoining ends into the azygous vein behind the oesophagus.

RECEIVE
3. Lower 8 posterior intercostal veins on the left.
4. Left bronchial veins.
5. Veins draining the middle 1/3 of the oesophagus.
