BORDERS & SURFACES
1. 4 chambers.
2. 3 borders (when viewed anteriorly) - right, inferior, left.
3. 3 surfaces - anterior (sternocostal), inferior (diaphragmatic), posterior (base).

COMPONENTS
4. Right border = right atrium; left border = left ventricle + left auricle; inferior border = right ventricle + small portion of left.
5. Sternocostal surface = right atrium + AV groove + right ventricle.
6. Diaphragmatic surface = right atrium + AV groove + posterior IV branch of right coronary + B/L ventricles.
7. Base = left atrium receiving 4 pulmonary veins.
