VERTEBRAL CANAL

1. The vertebral canal is a tubular space formed by a whole series of vertebral foramina one on top of the other.
2. Anterior boundary - PLL, disc, vertebral body.
3. Posterior boundary - lamina, ligamentum flavum.
4. Lateral boundary - pedicles, intervertebral foramina.
5. The bony wall is separated from the meninges by the epidural space, which contains fat and veins (internal vertebral venous plexus).
