VERTEBRAL BODIES-GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

1. The vertebral bodies become larger from above downwards.
2. Curvature is maintained through the wedge shape of the discs.
3. L5/S1 spondylolisthesis is prevented by the wedge shaped disc + the direction of the articular facets between L5 and S1.
