5D) CN V (TRIGEMINAL)-MAXILLARY DIVISION BRANCHES (5-7)

5. POTERIOR-SUPERIOR ALVEOLAR NERVE - begins as a single branch of the maxillary nerve. Divides into 3 further branches which emerge through the pterygomaxillary fissure.
- Two of the branches supply the mucosa of the maxillary sinus + 3 molars.
- One branch pierces the buccinator to supply the gum of the vestibule adjacent to the 3 molars.
