3D) CN III (OCCULOMOTOR)-SUPPLY

1. Superior division - passes onto the orbital surface of the superior rectus 1/3 of the way along.
✤ It then passes onto the levator palpebrae superioris → to which it supplies sympathetic fibers.

2. Inferior division
✤ Inferior rectus - passes along the orbital surface to enter 1/3 of the way along.
✤ Inferior oblique - passes along the orbital surface to enter 1/3 of the way along. The parasympathetic fibers from the Edinger Westphal nucleus lie in the proximal part of this branch and leave it to enter the ciliary ganglion.
