SUPRAHYOID REGION

1. The hyoid is connected to the mandible by the MYELOHYOIDS, which form the floor of the mouth.
2. The anterior belly of the DIGASTRIC lies below it (superficial to it).
3. Hidden under the mandible are the submandibular salivary gland and LN.
4. These structures are covered by the investing deep cervical fascia which is attached to the hyoid and inferior border of the mandible.
5. In the subcutaneous tissue lie the PLATYSMA and submental LN.
