1. Forms a broad flat sheet that extends from the deep fascia over the PACTORALIS MAJOR + DELTOID to the lower border of the mandible.
2. Some fibers reaching the lateral part of the lower lip by passing under the depressor anguli oris.
3. The muscle covers the anterior + external jugular veins.
4. Supplied by the cervical branch of the facial nerve.
5. Plays a part in facial expression.
