FASCIA-DEEP CERVICAL

1. Deep fascia that underlies subcutaneous fat, surrounds the neck like a collar.

ATTACHMENTS
2. It splits to incude the trapezius and SCM.
3. Posteriorly it meets the ligamenum nuchae.
4. Superiorly it is attached to the hyoid bone.
5. Inferiorly attached to the pectoral girdle - spine of the scapula + lateral part of clavicle (with trapezius) + clavicle & sternum (with SCM).
6. The layers are attached to the anterior + posterior jugular notch, enclosing the suprasternal space, in which the anterior jugular veins pass.

FORMS THE FOLLOWING
7. B/W the angle of the mandible + tip of the mastoid the fascia splits to form the capsule of the parotid gland.
8. B/W the styloid process + angle of the mandible it forms the stylomandibular ligament.
