EYELIDS-BLINK REFLEX

1. Blinking is set off by dryness of the cornea, to replace the precorneal film or by excess tears, to pump them into the nose.

2. Produced by palpebral fibers of the obicularis oculi.

3. The movement does not diminish the conjunctival sac.

4. Blinking pumps the lacrimal sac like a rubber syringe, to suck excess fluid from the conjunctival sac and to pump it into the nose.
