TEMPORAL BONE-ARTICULATIONS

1. The apex of the petrous temporal bone is wedged b/w the basiocciput medially and the greater wing of the sphenoid laterally, as far as the foramen lacerum.

2. The squamous part articulates with the curve of the greater wing of the sphenoid in front and the parietal bone above.

3. Posteriorly the mastoid part articulates with the parietal + occipital bones.
