PARANASAL SINUSES-FRONTAL SINUS

1. These are the only sinuses not present at birth, form at 2yrs of age as excavations into the diploe of the frontal bone.

2. Each lies above the medial end of the eyebrow and extends into the roof of the orbit.

3. They are separated by a bony septum in the midline region.

4. Each sinus drains through an ostium into the anterior end of the semilunar hiatus.

5. Blood supply - supraorbital, supratrochlear, anterior ethmoidal arteries.

6. Nerve supply - supraorbital, supratrochlear nerves.
