NASAL CAVITY-NERVE SUPPLY

1. OLFACTORY AREA - supplied by the Olfactory n. Has olfactory receptors, cell bodies of bipolar cells embedded within the mucosa.

2. VESTIBULAR AREA - supplied by the Infraorbital n. whose branches have crept in from the face.

3. RESPIRATORY AREA - by 4 branches.
- FRONT + ABOVE = anterior ethmoidal n.
- FRONT + BELOW = anterior superior alveolar n.
- BACK + ABOVE = lateral posterior superior nasal branches of pterygopalatine ganglion.
- BACK + BELOW = posterior inferior nasal branches of greater palatine n.

4. NASAL SEPTUM
- FRONT = nasopalatine n.
- BACK + ABOVE = anterior ethmoidal n.
- BACK + BELOW = greater palatine n.
