NASAL CAVITY-INFERIOR MEATUS & CONCHA

1. Covered with mucuous membrane which contains large vascular spaces, erectile tissue that controls the calibre of the nasal cavity.
2. It can swell and block the nose rapidly.
3. Overhangs the inferior meatus which receives the nasolacrimal duct.
4. The inferior concha is a separate bone - articulates with maxilla anteriorly, palatine bone posteriorly, uncinate process in the middle.
