NEUROVASCULAR PLANE

1. Vertical arrangements in the body wall - VAN (vein on top, artery in the middle & nerve at the bottom).

2. The nerve crosses the artery in the ventral and dorsal midlines to lie closer to the skin.

3. The spinal circle lies outside the arterial circle.

4. Hence the spinal nerve lies behind the vertebral artery in the neck.

5. The spinal nerve also passes in front of the epigastric vessles.
