AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM

1. The motor part of the somatic nervous system is concerned with innervation of skeletal muscles.

2. The motor part of the autonomic nervous system is concerned with innervation of cardiac muscle, smooth muscles and glands.

3. The important difference is that the pathway from CNS to target organ is interrupted by synapse in a ganglion.
