PERITONEUM-LESSER SAC

1. Greater sac - coloured in pink; lesser sac - coloured in blue.
2. The lesser sac lies within the greater omentum & opens into the greater sac through the epiploic foramen, which lies anterior to the IVC.

BOUNDARIES
1. Anterior - lesser omentum, posterior stomach, gastrocolic omentum.
2. Left lateral - gastrosplenic + linorenal ligaments.
3. Posterior - parietal periotoneum covering duodenum, pancreas, left kidney/adrenal gland, AA, coeliac trunk. To the right of AA is parietal peritoneum covering IVC, posterior margin of epiploic foramen.
4. Roof - peritoneum covering the caudate lobe of liver.
5. Inferior - transverse mesocolon.
