LIVER-PORTA HEPATIS

1. Transverse slit at the posterior surface of the liver.

2. It is perforated by the portal vein, right + left hepatic artery, right + left hepatic ducts - in that arrangement (VAD) with the ducts in front.

3. The cystic duct lies in loose contact with the right end of the porta.

4. These structures, LN and nerves of the liver lie enclosed within layers of the free edge of the lesser omentum.
