GALLBLADDER-VARIATIONS

MORPHOLOGY
1. Phrygian cap: the fundus is sometimes folded back upon itself.
2. Hartmann pouch - neck is focally dilated (adjacent to the body), probably pathological, related to cholelithiasis.
3. Mesentery - whole gallbladder is invested by the serous membrane, forming 'mesentery', connecting it to liver.
4. Internal septation.

5. Accessory gallbladder
6. Gallbladder duplication, triplication, agenesis.

LOCATION
7. Ectopic gallbladder - intrahepatic, retrohepatic, transverse, retroperitoneal, left-sided: extremely rare (<0.20%).
