FOREGUT BLOOD SUPPLY-COMMON HEPATIC ARTERY

BRANCH OF COELIAC TRUNK
1. Passes down to the first part of the duodenum behind the posterior peritoneum.
2. It then passes into the lesser sac (epiploic foramen) and passes b/w the 2 layers of periotneum as the hepatic artery.
3. Here it lies to the left of the bile duct and both lie in front of the portal vein.
4. Common hepatic gives off the right gastric + gastroduodenal arteries.
5. Hepatic artery gives off the right + left branches.
